Implementing the System of "Monitoring Air Quality and Fires in Remote Forests of Zagros Mountains"

 

 

With the efforts of the research group of smart applications based on wireless networks (winiapp) of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, the "monitoring of air quality and forest fires in remote Zagros mountains" system was implemented. This system based on the Internet of Things, which was designed with the aim of protecting the remote forests of Zagros from fire, is capable of timely detecting the location of fire in remote forest areas. It also allows rangers to prevent the spread of fire faster and economically.

Dr. Mehdi Naderisoorki, the manager of this project, listed the advantages of this system as low-power and long-range networks, usable on Internet of Things platforms and mobile applications.

He added that the IoT platform will show the collected data to the rangers using different graphs. Therefore, rangers can remotely monitor important parameters of mountain forests in remote areas. In addition to the humidity and air quality of the forests in the mountainous areas, in case of fire, the time and location of the fire will be promptly notified to the rangers online and on the right time.
