The Vice-Chancellor of Education and Graduate Studies of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz said: For the first time in the academic year of 2023-2024 four students were admitted to the university in the field of Computer Engineering, "Internet of Things".
According to the public relations report of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Dr. Rahim Peyghan pointed out: These students were admitted to the master's level through a national exam and have started their studies. Referring to the implementation of the IoT project and the launch of the "Internet of Things" field he noted: This project has been implemented in the form of an international consortium in which six universities from Iran and Iraq participate. The main goal of the IoT project is to design and establish the Internet of Things (IoT) master's program (subcategory of computer engineering), which includes six work packages: "Preparation of the field", "Development of the courses", "Quality control", Dissemination, "Sustainability and exploitation" and "project management".
The Vice-Chancellor of Education and Graduate Studies of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, added: This university has actively and effectively cooperated in all work packages and has also been responsible for the management of the "Field Preparation" work package, which consists of five activities of analyzing available courses and resources (in cooperation with the University of Basic Sciences of Zanjan), analysis of market needs (in collaboration with the University of Sistan and Baluchistan), target measurement and analysis of deficiencies compared to the market (in collaboration with the University of Tabriz), determination of current educational deficiencies for IoT training (in collaboration with the Waset University of Iraq) and the development plan of the courses (in collaboration with Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz). After going through these steps, the curriculum compiled for this new field has been submitted to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in Iran and Iraq and consequently received its approval. In the end, he stated: In this regard the "Specialized Internet of Things Laboratory" equipped with the required basic equipment was opened.
