DEPARTMENT OF PAINTING

The department of Painting started its activities in 2002 with an associate degree program. Later, bachelor and discontinuous bachelor programs were also added with the purpose of making a connection between painting and life and with other fields of study. As such, the associate degree program stopped working.

The following opportunities are provided in the Department of Painting at the Faculty of Art, which we believe is one of the most beautiful faculties of Art in Iran:

  • You will graduate from the bachelor programs learning principles and basics of painting including principles of visual arts, basic concepts of drawing, figurative design, and inanimate nature.
  • You will practice basic colorology using limited and broad palettes, organization of visual elements to create a well-founded painting composition, and creative presentation of personal spaces in painting.
  • You can become a creative artist by focusing on developing workshop skills, and studying the theories, history, and social issues related to the contemporary art, if you practice regularly and enthusiastically.
  • With our help, you can learn a myriad of strategies like digital painting, landscape painting, and abstract painting in the natural and beautiful environment of the faculty.
  • The professors in our department will guide and encourage you to investigate the modern arts, Iranian arts, and strategies of practical art.
  • We will provide you with the chance to administer exhibitions, we will introduce the most prestigious exhibitions and galleries, and help you become professional.
  • Our painting workshops are a combination of different practical trainings and their related theories.
  • The coursework also includes contemporary art issues and Iranian painting.
  • Our students and their professors work collaboratively and do extensive research to create and present coherent works of art.
  • In our department, you will be given the chance to develop your ideas and then present them.
  • Indoor and outdoor extracurricular cultural and recreational activities will provide you with memorable experiences.
  • Other regular activities include administration of exhibitions, student workshops, festivals, seminars, specialized mural painting workshops and art works.

Our department is now active including five faculty members, nine invited teachers, and 140 students and invites you to join us.
