The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in 1979 at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz (SCU). Today, among more than eighty departments of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, the Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the most prominent groups with excellent teaching, research ability, and records. The department offers educational programs to more than 500 students at bachelor's degree, Master of Science, and Ph.D. levels, as well as a variety of research areas including solid and thermo-fluid mechanics, energy conversion, applied design, renewable energies, stress analysis, mechatronics and robotics, and dynamics and vibrations. As a regional mission, the Mechanical Engineering Department undertakes not only conducting both fundamental and applied academic researches but also tackling technological problems in the industries of Khuzestan Province.
