    Licensed by the then Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Faculty of Letters and Humanities was founded in 1973 after deciding to hold the four BA programs of Persian Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Teaching Persian Language and Literature, and Teaching English Language and Literature in one place. It should be noted that the core of this faculty was the Department of Foreign Languages ​​at Ahvaz Teacher Training College which expanded its activities in 1969 by admitting students of English Language and Literature in an evening program.
     

    Faculty Facilities


    The Faculty of Letters and Humanities is located in place with a beautiful architecture and a green space landscape. it has projector-equipped classes, two separate libraries with books in Persian and in foreign languages, two well-equipped halls for holding seminars each with a seating capacity of over 80 people, and a large amphitheater seating 300 people. Also, the faculty has an equipped workshop for the Department of Geography and Urban Planning and two well-equipped laboratories for teaching foreign languages ​​to students. Moreover, the faculty is collaborating with the Azfa Center at the university (the center for teaching Persian to speakers of other languages). The Faculty of Letters and Humanities currently admits students in BA, MA, and PhD programs to its five departments of Persian Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, History, Geography and Urban Planning, and French Language and Literature.
