Founded in 1955 the Faculty of Agriculture at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz is the first and oldest faculty of the university. Equipped with the latest laboratory, farming, and greenhouse facilities, our faculty is one of the most successful faculties in the country. Considering its history, its facilities and academics' ability, our faculty has the potential to work on and solve problems in the biological control of agricultural pests, soil conservation, increasing the quality of horticultural crops and crop production, and the improvement of agricultural mechanization.
At the present, we are cooperating with different governmental and non-governmental organizations and institutes, including Municipal Office of Green Space, the Sugarcane Industry, Agricultural Research Center, the Institute of Standards and industrial companies such as steel and oil companies in various areas of agriculture and environment.
A number of top academics of different universities in Iran and some of the high ranking officials of the Ministry of Agriculture have graduated from our faculty.
We are proud to announce that our faculty members have written more than 50 books and translated dozens of others; meanwhile, two of our faculty members were selected as the Exemplar Professors of the year in Iran.
Right now, there are more than 52 faculty members engaged in teaching and supervising students and doing research. The faculty is also home to more than 4500 students who are studying in BSc., MSc., and PhD programs.

Introduction
Jondishapour University, currently known as Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, was established in 1954, and the building of the Faculty of Agriculture as one of the most important educational and research units of this university was built in the late 60s and early 70s. Since then, a small library with a big purpose was placed to provide information to the scientific community. This library aims to meet the informational, scientific and cultural needs of students, faculty members and university staff.
Building and equipment
The Faculty of Agriculture is built on two floors with nearly 500 square meters of useful space. The study hall with a capacity of 120 people has two separate sections for the study of women and men. In each section, there are 4 individual study tables for two people and 8 study tables for 6 people. On the same floor, there are 2 study tables for six people to review reference sources and theses.
This library has 10,217 volumes of Persian books and 9,316 volumes of books in other languages, as well as 300 non-Persian archival magazine titles, 95 Persian magazine titles and more than 1,300 theses. Also, the library has a comprehensive software for searching, retrieving and accessing information quickly and easily.
In the archive section, there are more than 300 foreign language magazine archives from 2005 and earlier which are shelved and sorted based on the title and year of publication.
The library has 10 computers, of which three are dedicated for search services. Also, the library has a printer, a scanner, a card press, six set of air conditioners, a drinking water purifier, and a refrigerator.

Introduction
There are 25 and 10 set of computers for undergraduate male and female student's sites in the Faculty of Agriculture Computer and IT Center, respectively. These sites are located in education department corridor.
Postgraduate site has also been equipped with 20 set of computers. This site is located in the second corridor of the Department of Soil Science.
Services
In addition to helping professors to form part of the classrooms and installing specialized software needed by students, the above center is also a place to search for materials and articles needed for carrying out research projects.
Facilities
All the computers of the above center are connected to the Internet. Also, each of the sites has been equipped with a scanner and a Wi-Fi modem to connect laptops and mobile phones to the Internet.
