It was in 1976 that the management department was established to both educate skilled students and conduct research in the south west of Iran. It then officially embarked on undergraduate students' admission in commercial management. Since that year, many of its commercial management graduates and postgraduates have been working in important private and governmental positions.
Considering the various orientations of the faculty members, the department's main focus is on issues like market and marketing management, financial and investment management, technology transfer and management, production and operation management, supply chain management, and issues on organizational behavior and human sources.
In the realm of research, considering their areas of study, the faculty members focus on issues like the study of home and international market, the study of risk and investment management, the study of industrial development, the study of performance and efficiency management, the study of human behavior and sources, the study of information technology and electronic commerce. Bearing these lines of research in mind, the management department has conducted several provincial and regional research projects with different industries.
Currently the management department offers both graduate and postgraduate courses. The B.A. includes courses like commercial management and the M.A. includes courses like commercial management with 4 orientations (marketing, entrepreneurship, home commercial, and e-commerce), industrial management (production and operation orientation) and financial management.
