Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz Participates in the Second Iran-Iraq Science Week

 

 

Along the Second Iran-Iraq Science Week, seven memorandums of understanding were signed between Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and Southern Technical University, University of Al-Hamdaniya, University of Kerbala, University of Al-Karkh, Kut University College, University of Al Maarif and University of Al-Qadisiyah.

According to Public Relations report of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Dr. Ali Mohammad Akhoond-Ali, Chancellor of SCU and Dr. Sayyed Rahim Moosavinia, Director of International Scientific Cooperation of the University, attended the Second Iran-Iraq Science Week held in the city of Karbala – Iraq, with officials of Higher Education of Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Iraq. They met and discussed joint cooperation.

The Second Iran-Iraq Science Week was held to strengthen and expand friendly relations and improve cooperation in the field of higher education, scientific research, and technological development between the two countries, crystallized in cooperation agreements signed between Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and the mentioned universities of Iraq. Exchange of faculty members, researchers, exchange of opinion, facilitating participation of professors and researchers of the two sides in international scientific gatherings, conferences, as well as sabbaticals, holding joint exhibitions, scientific research and technology, joint research projects, student exchange are some of the goals of these agreements.

It should be noted that the Second Iran-Iraq Science Week was held from 18-20 January with Dr.  Hossein Simaei Sarraf, Minister of Science, Research and Technology from Islamic Republic of Iran and Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research from Republic of Iraq, as well as Higher Education Officials, and Chancellors of universities of the two countries in Al-Zahraa University for Women in Karbala.

Some of the other officials present in the event included Mostafa Rostami Head of the Supreme Leader Representation in Universities, Dr. Habiba Head of the Student Affairs Organization, Dr. Rezaeifar Director of the International Scientific Cooperation Office on the Iranian side and Nassif Jassim al-Khattabi Governor of Karbala, Dr. Haidar Abid Dhahad Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Affairs, as well as Dr. Hazem Baqir Tahir Director General of Scholarships and Cultural Relations as well as Dr. Yasser Abdul Zahra Al-Hajjaj Iraqi cultural attaché in Tehran, on the Iraqi side.
