In 1979, Department of Sport Physiology was launched. This Department includes two divisionsin master's degree (Pure physiology, Applied Physiology; active students = 47) and a PhD program (active students = 14). The Department focuses on research topics such as the diabetes, hypertension, aerobic and anaerobic activity. Currently, faculty members in this division are 1 full Professor, 3 associate professor and 3 Assistant Professors and 5 Instructors.

This department consists of two tendencies (purely-applied) in a master's degree and a tendency (muscle and nerve) in a PhD. Currently, Dr. Abdolhamid Habibi is the director of the department.
