Department of Chemical Engineering at Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz (SCU) has been active ever since the founding of B.Sc. of chemical engineering and M.Sc. of petroleum engineering in 2017. This department now includes the 3 sub-departments of: chemical engineering, petroleum and gas engineering, and polymer and petrochemical engineering. In addition, the department includes many educational and research laboratories, such as: unit operations, process control, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, separation processes, physical and mechanical properties of polymers, catalyst and reactor, polymerization process, membrane processes, oil, gas and petrochemical processes, oil fluid properties and thermodynamics, fuel cell and battery, resin and color, nanotechnology, biotechnology, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), drilling fluids, drilling equipment, and oil reservoir rock properties.

The main objective of the this Department is to provide students with the necessary skills and culture of research, innovation, and technology in various fields of chemical, petroleum, gas, and petrochemical engineering. The department has many faculty members, engaged in various fields, such as process design and simulation, separation processes, polymerization processes, EOR, and drilling. The department is ready to extend its international research and educational collaboration with many universities, research centers and companies around the world.
