The Museum of Science and Nature of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, with the aim of elevating students' theoretical and applied knowledge, tries to create educational, scientific, and artistic atmosphere. In addition, this place can increase students' self-confidence and keeps them in close contact with science, as well as nurturing the research spirit and avoiding their waste of time. The museum was established in 2001 and opened shortly after, since then it has become available to university staff, employees, students and public. This complex with 3000 square meter is the biggest museum of the province and is also considered as one of the scientific poles and tourist attractions, due to night and day research and numerous innovations. In addition, the museum has been selected as the permanent secretariat of the country's science and history museums. It is also one of the top 10 scientific museums in Iran with more than a dozen patents. Currently, in this place researchersare constantly undertaking many scientific researches and working on different patents which are centered in two different halls named science and nature.
The science hall offers an overview of several areas of study such as Cell Biology, Microbiology, Hematology,Osteology,Embryology etc. Moreover, in the classical and modern physics section, more than 200 highly-advanced experiments are presented in different areas related to Physics. Other units of the science hall include the evolution of technology, the printing industry, animal skeletons, colored embryos of animals and many more other units.
In the nature hall, visitors witness a stilled, taxidermic, and quiet wildlife.There are a variety of mammals including lion, leopard, wolf, etc. as well as different species of birds, reptiles and amphibians from small to gigantic.In addition, large and small insects are put into display and real bee hives can be seen.
